Chloe Manisouk

High School Senior, Has been accepted to San Diego State and Cal Poly Pomona, waiting for an update from UC Davis.

Leadership roles during high school includes Class President, ASB Treasurer, ASB Vice President, Asian Student Union President, Gender-Sexuality Alliance Vice President, and Multi-cultural union representative.

Parents are Tam Manisouk and Tyler Nambounmy

Chloe's lifelong goal is to introduce Lao culture through cooking her favorite Lao dishes Learning about food science has not only caused a spark in chemistry, but has also inspired her future in becoming a food scientist.

Has created her own volunteer group for the temple, a dance group at her school for many students to learn fun, traditional Lao dances.

High School Senior, planning to attend San Diego State University for its Kinesiology program and then planning for a Masters in Biomechanics at Point Loma Nazarene. Also considering UCSD or UCI of their research programs.

Parents are Nina Sengaloune and Khambay Sengaloune

Captain of his volleyball team

He helps set up for events like Lao New Year and also sells food and guides people who attends. He also participate in the annual Lao Dragon Boat race, racing with Jao pha ya. He lends a hand at the Lao Soccer club and also assists with the traditional Lao funeral viewing.

Brooke Bounyavong

Junior at CSU San Marcos, majoring in Biochemistry and eventually become a Physician’s Assistant

Parents are Aukime Bounyavong and Vilayvanh Bounyavong

She aided in founding the Chemistry and Biochemistry Academic Association Club at her school where she work as the Communications Chair and manage social events between both student and faculty members. She is also part of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Targeted Learning Community (CBTLC) which promotes success for Chemistry and Biochemistry majors.

Since she was young she wanted to work in the medical field primarily to aid underrepresented communities and become an advocate for people who are not able to do so themselves.

Works as a telemetry technician as Scripps.

Kassidy Chittaphong

Senior at Lincoln High School

Parents are Nouky Chittaphong Kathy Southivong

Captain for the Lincoln High School's Junior Varsity team.

Goal is to become a marine biologist while also doing many other occupations on the side, including cosmetology, business, and veterinarian. She chose marine biology because she is interested and intrigued by how marine life survives in an aquatic environment.

She helps to set up a booth and sell products at Lao New Year events like The Boat Racing Festival.

High school senior, waiting for response from University of California colleges

Parents are Vee Prasouvo and Chaiphet Sanavongsay

Goal to work in medical field, preferably in Pediatrics

She has performed the traditional las dance since age 5 at Lao New Year temples and festivals. She has also performed and volunteered the evening event and the day event, helping check tickets in and making sure guests were coming in as swiftly as possible. As a Part of SD Lao Heritage, she has also represented her community at weddings and other events for people outside of the community through performances.

She has learned how to play the khim (a Lao instrument).
